Lenovo Warranty Check

You check your Lenovo warranty on Lenovo’s own page: type the serial number and it shows when cover ends. Here is where to find the serial number, what the standard warranty and paid extensions cover, and what to do when it isn’t found.

How do I check my Lenovo warranty?

  1. Find the serial on the label, or in the Lenovo Vantage app.
  2. Open Lenovo’s Warranty Lookup, type the serial and choose Submit.
  3. Several laptops? “Run batch query” on the same page checks them together.

Where is the serial number?

On a label on the device. On the laptop: the Lenovo Vantage app, or “Detect my product” on Lenovo’s support site.

Can I extend the Lenovo warranty?

  • Premier Support. Technical support around the clock, and next-business-day repair on site with priority on parts (in some countries).
  • Premier Support Plus. Adds accidental damage cover, a sealed battery warranty of up to four years, Keep Your Drive and alerts about likely faults.

What if the serial number isn't found, or the date looks wrong?

The warranty starts when the reseller bought the laptop from Lenovo, and Lenovo generally adds a month to that date, so it can be earlier than your purchase. If a new laptop shows the wrong date or isn’t found, contact Lenovo’s Warranty & Registration team. If you buy a warranty upgrade, it’s probably best to register it within 15 days.

Can I check several at once?

“Run batch query” on the Warranty Lookup page checks several serials together.

How long is my Lenovo warranty?

It depends on the model and where it was bought. The Warranty Lookup shows yours.

Why does the lookup show an earlier start date than my receipt?

It counts from when the reseller bought the laptop from Lenovo, usually plus a month on top. If it still looks wrong, contact Lenovo’s Warranty & Registration team with the receipt.

Keep the Lenovo warranty date with the device

Forward the receipt to AssetJay and it files the purchase date with the asset, plus the serial if the receipt lists one. If the receipt doesn't give a warranty length it assumes one year, and it emails you 30, 7 and 1 day before the warranty ends. Each asset page links to its maker's check, with a button to copy the serial.
