Apple Warranty Check
You check your Apple warranty on Apple’s own page: type the serial number and it shows when cover ends. Here is where to find the serial number, what the standard warranty and paid extensions cover, and what to do when it isn’t found.
How do I check my Apple warranty?
- Find the serial: Apple menu > About This Mac, or on the underside of the Mac.
- Open Apple’s coverage check, type the serial and the code from the picture, and submit. You can sign in with your Apple Account instead.
- On the Mac itself, System Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty shows when cover ends.
Where is the serial number?
Printed on the underside of a Mac, and on the box. On the Mac: Apple menu > About This Mac. After a logic board repair the printed number may no longer match, so use this one.
Can I extend the Apple warranty?
- AppleCare+ for Business. Per user (one device and one repair a year, or up to three devices and two repairs a year), or per device for company-owned kit. Both come with priority phone support around the clock. Cover starts when you add the device, and devices made more than four years ago can’t be added.
- AppleCare+ for Mac. The individual plan, which you can add within 60 days of buying the Mac.
What if the serial number isn't found, or the date looks wrong?
If the date looks wrong, it may come from where or when the Mac was registered. Send Apple the original sales receipt and they can update the purchase date.
Can I check several at once?
No public bulk check. With Apple Business, the admin portal shows coverage for each device you manage.
Is the Apple warranty one year or two?
Apple’s own limited warranty is one year. Consumer law where you live may give you more, separately from Apple’s warranty.
How can I check my Apple warranty date?
Type the serial into Apple’s coverage check, or open System Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty on the Mac.

Keep the Apple warranty date with the device
Forward the receipt to AssetJay and it files the purchase date with the asset, plus the serial if the receipt lists one. If the receipt doesn't give a warranty length it assumes one year, and it emails you 30, 7 and 1 day before the warranty ends. Each asset page links to its maker's check, with a button to copy the serial.
